Welcome to Scotland’s national Code of Practice for Support Workers. This Code explains the standards of behaviour and responsibilities expected from everyone who works as a Support Worker in health and care. It helps make sure that, whatever your role or area of work, you provide care that is safe, effective, and compassionate.

Support Workers have an important and valued role in providing person-centred care across Scotland. Whether your job involves working directly with people or in roles that support care delivery, what you do is essential for the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of those who use health and care.
