Supporting Resources
Support Worker Central brings together learning, development, and guidance materials for nursing, midwifery, and allied health professions support workers across Scotland. It is designed to support people working in all care settings, including health, social care, and community services.
The site provides access to resources that help support staff to understand their role, build knowledge, and develop skills that align with Scotland’s national Code of Practice for Support Workers. These resources support safe, effective, and compassionate care by reinforcing the standards of behaviour, values, and responsibilities set out in the Code.
Support Worker Central also includes dedicated content for managers and educators. This section offers guidance, practical tools, and signposting to national resources that support supervision, learning, and the ongoing development of the support worker workforce.
By linking learning and development directly to the Code of Practice, Support Worker Central helps support workers meet professional expectations and deliver person‑centred care. It reflects the important contribution support workers make to people’s safety, wellbeing, and dignity, and supports consistent standards of care across Scotland.
