Step 8: Job Plan Review Meetings

09

As a service you may wish to agree a structure and timescales for your regular Job Plan Review Meetings with each staff member.

The purpose of this meeting is:

  • To discuss an individual’s Job Plan and how it relates to their Personal Development Plan (PDP), Development Needs Analysis Tool (DNAT; Framework structure | NMAHP Development Framework) and the service objectives with associated SMART targets (NES: Setting SMART objectives | Turas | Learn)
  • To discuss their agreed SPA activity and Clinical Activity for the coming Job Plan period, and their capacity allocated to this. This should include discussion about time planned for meeting the four Pillars of Practice, and any role specific duties.
  • Any risks should be highlighted i.e. activity which the individual does not have capacity for. Risks should be recorded in the risk tool and can be collated and themed for the Service Review (Step 6: Service Review).

It is recommended that a Job Plan review meeting is held at least annually and can be part of a pre-existing one-to-one meeting. There are sections on the individuals Job Plan to note down any comments, discussion and risks.

After every meeting, data on activity done in the previous Job Plan period can collected and reviewed for the service in the Service Data Collection spreadsheet. (Step 3: Collect Data).
